Reflecting on Advanced Healthcare Directives/Living Wills

The purpose of this training is to explore and demystify Advanced Care Directives and Living Wills. Time will be provided for discussion and reflection on “what matters” in relation to planning our own health-care wishes and how best to assist others in planning theirs.

This training begins a process in identifying our wishes and preferences for medical care, including the right to agree to or to refuse treatment, as well as making provision for arrangements after death. The training will be a great help in drafting a health-care plan that is meaningful for participants, as well as building confidence around the issues inherent in facing illness during life’s journey. Guidance will be given on how to understand and compose our own personal Advanced Healthcare Directive/Living Will and for composing EOLC care-plans for those in our care.
